Kia Seltos Crosses 6 Lakh Sales Milestone in India Since 2019 Launch
Kia India announced that Seltos has crossed the major milestone of 6 lakh cumulative sales in India since its launch in 2019. This achievement reflects consistent performance and sustained customer trust in the competitive mid-SUV segment.
Since its debut in the market, Seltos has played a crucial role in establishing Kia’s presence in India. The SUV entered with bold global design, petrol and diesel powertrain options, automatic transmission choices, and a feature-rich cabin with large infotainment and connected car technologies. With time, updates focused on safety, comfort and technology helped it evolve further.
A key highlight of this milestone shows 29% of total sales coming from top variants. This reflects growing customer preference towards premium features and advanced safety technologies. Higher trims uptake indicates acceptance of ADAS, safety packages and enhanced connectivity solutions among buyers. At the same time, steady demand across entry and mid variants highlights Seltos’ balanced value proposition.
Kia stated that Seltos helped redefine expectations in the mid-SUV segment by introducing features seen in higher segments. This made it an attractive upgrade option for customers moving from hatchbacks, sedans and compact SUVs, offering a premium ownership experience without moving into a larger category.
Mr. Sunhack Park, Chief Sales Officer, Kia India, said crossing 6 lakh cumulative sales reflects sustained customer preference for design, safety, performance and technology. He added that strong uptake of top trims and consistent demand across variants shows growing customer confidence in safety systems and connected technologies.
Looking ahead, the new-generation Seltos is positioned to lead Kia India’s next growth phase. The updated model offers a length of 4,460 mm, width of 1,830 mm and wheelbase of 2,690 mm, delivering enhanced interior space and stronger road presence. It also introduces upgraded ADAS, improved cabin refinement, enhanced safety architecture and expanded digital interfaces while retaining multiple powertrain options.
This milestone momentum is reflected in monthly performance. In January 2026, Kia Seltos ranked No.3 in the 4.2m–4.5m SUV segment. The SUV recorded 10,639 unit sales with 64.44% year-on-year growth compared to 6,470 units in January 2025.
With 6 lakh cumulative units sold and refreshed model strengthening appeal, Seltos continues to anchor Kia India’s strategy in the mid-SUV segment and supports the next growth phase.
