Top 10 Midsize SUVs Jan 2026 : In the table of top 10 midsize SUVs in Jan 2026, Hyundai Creta moved up to first ahead of Mahindra Scorpio, Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Mahindra XUV 7XO. The midsize SUV segment witnessed intense competition in the first month of the new CY while newer entrants reshaped the rankings and established leaders holding ground.

Despite a marginal dip in volumes, Hyundai Creta retained the top position in the segment. Compared to 18,522 units in January 2025, the Creta recorded 17,921 units last month with a 3 per cent year-on-year decline but still enough to lead.

Mahindra Scorpio secured second place registering 15,542 units in January 2026 with a near-flat per cent YoY growth over 15,442 units sold a year earlier. Maruti Suzuki Victoris, the recently introduced SUV, continued its strong run finishing third with 15,240 units.

Its volumes have gone past the 50,000 market in just under 5 months since launch showing customer acceptance and ability to immediately climb into the top three. One of the most impressive growth performances in the segment was delivered by the Kia Seltos which received a new generation recently.

With 10,639 units sold, Kia Seltos posted a substantial 64 per cent YoY increase over 6,470 units last year. Mahindra’s XUV 7XO, the rebranded and more premium take on the XUV 700, followed in the fourth position with 10,133 units sold.

Toyota Hyryder stood out in the segment with 9,156 units compared to 4,941 units during the corresponding period twelve months ago recording a significant 85 per cent YoY growth.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara experienced a decline dropping to 7,030 units from 15,784 units a year ago with a 55 per cent decline which could be due to the arrival of its Victoris sibling.

Tata Harrier and Tata Safari posted healthy gains rising 149 per cent and 53 per cent respectively compared to the corresponding period.

Plenty of action will be seen in the midsize SUV segment in the due course of this year as new ICE and electric offerings are waiting to debut. On the EV front, Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara are set to arrive soon.
